We love to be active. Whether running the trails, powering through a HIIT workout in the gym, cycling through the countryside, walking up mountains, swimming laps in the pool, paddle boarding along the river or practicing a power yoga sequence. We love to keep active by looking after our bodies - through yoga, massage, strength, nutrition & rest. This retreat is aimed at ALL - whether you love to race, are at the beginning of your more active lifestyle or like to exercise for freedom & fun - this retreat will be sure to help you get the best from your active lifestyle! 👣

Women have a different physiology to men, which means the female athlete needs to train differently to the male athlete. During this weekend we will not only focus on improving exercise technique, learning how to build over all strength & flexibility but we will help you get the best from your training for your female body - helping you also to improve your health & wellbeing!

 

What’s involved?

We will share tried and tested techniques, tools & practices that proved to have helped us in our personal athletic endeavours, and lead to positive results for our clients - helping them to improve form, strength, efficiency, endurance and most of all longevity.

We want you to run, HIIT, relax, yoga, hike, build strength & have fun. During the stay you will experience a schedule of activities that are modified to meet your needs. From idyllic runs and walks for all levels of runner to HIIT sessions, posture & technique coaching, yoga strength & flexibility classes, informative talks & workshops on managing & preventing injury for those who want to learn.

ALL specifically designed by women for women, to help:

  • Improve strength, stability & mobility

  • Improve fitness & endurance

  • Aid rest & recovery

  • Improve breathing capacity

  • Prevent & manage injury

  • Give us confidence to adapt our training according to our cycle, through peri-menopause and after menopause

  • Work towards our active goals

All sessions are completely optional - you can attend as many or as few as you like.

Where we stay:

Active Wellness will be hosted in the Spanish hamlet of La Alqueria, at the luxury resort The Palms Spain in the hills of the stunning Andalusian countryside and close to the beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol, just a short drive from Malaga airport.

All en-suite rooms are individually decorated to a high standard, complete with air conditioning/heating, quality bedding, a safe, free WiFi & and outside terrace. Towels and a training clothes washing service are also included.

You will have time to swim in the pool, soak in the hot tub, enjoy a cold drink in the bar and relax in the gardens.

 

What should we expect:

We have scheduled the activity timetable around the delicious menu of home cooked vegan & vegetarian meals & snacks to keep us energised, refuelled and feeling fabulous!!

Despite the fun filled agenda there will be plenty of time for some well earned rest & relaxation - whether taking time to chill out in the hot tub, curl up & read a book in the beautiful gardens or making the most of the winter sun relaxing by the pool.

Sam Edwards

Functional Performance & Running Coach; Triathlon England level 2 coach; Personal Trainer; Run Technique Instructor; +800hr Experienced Yoga Teacher (ERYT); Holistic Massage Therapist; multiple marathon runner & Ironman triathlete. Lover of trail running, canicross, open water swimming and road cycling.

The prices are as follows for 4 nights all inclusive:

  • £799 for shared occupancy

  • £1209 for sole occupancy

What is NOT included:

  • flights

  • personal travel insurance

  • transfers to & from the airport will be charged at €30 (payable locally)

  • alcohol, soft drinks & incidentals available at the honesty bar (cash only)

  • any Covid testing that may be required at time of travel
